geography
The city of Vigneux-sur-Seine is located about 18 kilometers southeast of Paris on a plateau between the Brie countryside , where agriculture and forestry is carried out, and the Seine valley . Across from Vigneux-sur-Seine (on the northwest side of the Seine) is Paris-Orly Airport . In the south of the municipality is the Forêt de Sénart .

The D448 department road runs through the municipality. The train station of Vigneux-sur-Seine is on the RER D operated and is located on the railway line from Villeneuve-Saint-Georges to Montargis .
history
The place that was already used as a settlement site in the Stone Age was created as a municipality in 1793. At that time the village had 66 inhabitants.
