- There were several castles in the area of today's municipality, but all of them have been destroyed. The best known was the Château de Petit-Bourg , built in the 17th century , which was acquired and rebuilt in 1795 by Madame de Montespan , the mistress of Louis XIV . After her death (1707) it changed hands several times and was completely renewed after 1756. It survived the revolutionary years, but was blown up by the Germans when they withdrew in 1944 and completely demolished in the 1950s. A new apartment block was built in its place.
- The city's new architecture was controversial from the start. In the meantime, however, some more interesting building projects have been implemented. This also includes a Buddhist temple, a Dominican monastery and a cathedral.
- The Cathedral of the Resurrection (French: Cathédrale de la Résurrection Evry ) was the first cathedral to be built in France for more than 100 years. It was built between 1991 and 1995 by the Swiss architect Mario Botta . He relied entirely on the effect of the brick as a design element and created two wall rings from simple brick exposed masonry.
