Saintry-sur-Seine 's is a French municipality with 5720 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Évry and is part of the canton Épinay-sous-Sénart . The inhabitants are called Saintryens .
geography
Saintry-sur-Seine is located on the Seine about 31 kilometers southwest of Paris . Saintry-sur-Seine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-du-Perray in the north and east, Morsang-sur-Seine in the south and Corbeil-Essonnes in the west and north-west.
Part of the Forêt de Sénart is in the municipality.
history
Saintry-sur-Seine was rebuilt on the remains of the old village of Morly in the 10th century. The municipality of Saintry has existed since 1793 and was given its nickname sur-Seine in 1949
