The Yerres (also: Yères ) is a river in France that runs in the Île-de-France region . It rises in the municipality of Guérard , where the upper course is also called Ru de Tournelles , initially drains south to southwest, then turns to northwest and flows into the Seine after 97 kilometers in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges as a right tributary . Its lower reaches lead through a densely populated area in the greater Paris area. On her way she crosses the departments of Seine-et-Marne , Essonne and Val-de-Marne .

Not to be confused with the French coastal river Yères in Haute-Normandie!
