Banda Khel is a village in the Tanai district of the Afghan province of Khost .
It is located about 30 km southwest of the provincial capital on the edge of the Chost Plain . The village is populated by Pashtuns of the Tani tribe , who belong to the subgroup of the Khabi Khel . The local economy is mainly based on the sale of wood in Chost and Duamanda and the cultivation of pine nuts . Banda Khel has a school for 800 children which, in addition to teaching, also serves as a meeting place for the surrounding villages.
