Tolvan Holed Stone

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Tolvan Stone is on the Tolvan Cross Farmhouse

The triangular Tolvan Holed Stone (or Tolvan Cross) is an unusually shaped roughly triangular megalith . It is about 2.15 m high - how deep it is in the earth is unknown. Its circular hole is 43 cm in diameter. It's about half a mile north of Gweek near Helston in Cornwall , England , behind the Tolvan Cross farmhouse. The slightly inclined perforated stone cannot be seen from the road.

The stone is said to have healing powers. In particular, according to legend, it guarantees newlyweds fertility - but only if the partners squeeze through the hole naked.
