Tomáš Hanák (born March 27, 1957 in Kremnica , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech actor .

Life

Hanák traveled a lot as a child. With his parents he spent u. a. two years in Cuba , where his father worked as a representative of a foreign trade company (PZO; Vytváření Podnik zahraničního obchodu ) in the implementation of orders in mechanical engineering . In his youth Hanák devoted himself to rowing , where he repeatedly traveled to non-socialist countries as a representative of the ČSSR. Hanák has been the Czech youth champion several times. He attended the Budějovická Gymnasium ( Gymnázium Budějovická ) in Prague . After being rejected from DAMU ( Divadelní fakulta Akademie múzických umění v Praze ), the theater faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, he studied economics and foreign trade at the Prague University of Economics (VŠE, Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze ) . However, he was dismissed from college, unofficially for disseminating anti-socialist texts.

Hanák worked in various professions in the course of his life. Since 1977 he worked as an actor, director and author at the Prague theater "Sklep" ( Divadlo Sklep ; "The Cellar"). He starred in many Czech films, as well as in commercials and TV programs on Czech TV .

In the Hollywood film Brothers Grimm (2005) he played a small role as a forest worker. As a stand-up comedian , he appeared on the Czech series Na stojáka , which ran on the television channel HBO . In June 2017 he was seen on ZDF in the television film Ein Sommer in Prag from the Ein Sommer in ... film series alongside Laura Preiss and Katja Weitzenböck in one of the leading male roles; he played the native Czech Richard Král, the childhood sweetheart of the female main character and father of her daughter. Hanák spoke his role in German; it was not synchronized.

At the end of the eighties, Hanák suffered from serious alcohol problems , which he had initially treated on an outpatient basis and later also clinically. a. in the detox center of the Havlíčkův Brod hospital . Hanák's treatments were successful; since 1994 he has lived as a "dry" alcoholic.

Hanák also acted as a moderator; he is committed u. a. in the charitable TV show Pomozte dětem ( “Help children!” ). He is a member of the international scouting movement and heads the organization Řetěz lásky k dětem , an association against nicotine abuse among children and young people.

Hanák has been married to Bára Hanáková since 1999 and has three children. He lives in Nižbor , where he runs a restaurant in a reconstructed wooden building, a former railway warehouse. He is also a member of the Nižbor Municipal Council.
