Tomás Gomensoro is a city in northwestern Uruguay .

geography

It is located in the area of ​​the Departamento Artigas in its sector 9 approx. 110 km west of the departmental capital Artigas . To the northwest of the city is Bella Unión .

history

In 1908 the city was given its current name, which can be traced back to the former President of Uruguay of the same name, Tomás Gomensoro . She was previously called Zanja Honda .
