Tom Bethell

Tom Bethell (born July 17, 1940 in London ) is an American journalist specializing in business journalism .

The Washington based journalist grew up in England. There he attended Downside Boarding School and studied at Oxford University . In 1962 he moved to the USA.

Bethell is the chief of service for The American Spectator , the editor of Harper's Magazine and Washington Monthly, and a correspondent for the right wing National Review . He is also a member of the Hoover Institution , a conservative think tank .

Bethell belongs to the Group for the Scientific Reappraisal of the HIV / AIDS Hypothesis , which denies that HIV causes AIDS (→ AIDS denial ). In 2005, Bethell published The Politically Incorrect Guide to Science . This makes it clear that Bethell is an opponent of the theory of evolution and is close to the idea of ​​" intelligent design ". In addition, in the book he denies human responsibility for climate change and claims that the political left is manipulating science to increase the influence of the state.
