Tom Hyer
Tom Hyer (born January 1, 1819 in New York City , New York , USA ; † June 26, 1864 ibid) was an American boxer in the bare knuckle era. Considered the first American champion, he was inducted into the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1954 and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2009 .
