Tomasz Adam Nowak

Tomasz Adam Nowak (* 1962 in Warsaw ) is an organist and university professor. He is the main organist at the St. Lamberti town and market church in Münster .

Nowak studied at the Frédéric Chopin University. He completed his studies in 1987 with distinction in the subjects of organ and organ improvisation . He completed his training with Franz Lehrndorfer in Munich , with Marie-Claire Alain in Paris and with Ewald Kooiman in Amsterdam . He also studied church music at the Folkwang University in Essen.

Competitions

Winner of numerous international organ competitions, including Liszt Competition in Budapest, Böhm Competition in Lüneburg, Karl Richter Competition in Berlin, Bach Competition in Wiesbaden and winner of the renowned International Improvisation Competition in Haarlem (Holland) in 1994.

Teaching

From 1995 to 2001 Nowak taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt a. M. and at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.

Since 2001 he has been Professor of Organ and Improvisation at the Detmold University of Music .
