The Tombstone Hill (English for gravestone hill ) is a striking and 1050 m high hill in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Admiralty Mountains, it rises on the northern flank of the Edisto Glacier .
Scientists from a 1957-1958 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition gave it its name. It is named after massive, often inclined slabs of sedimentary rock at the top of the hill, which appear like gravestones .
