Tomoko Takahashi
Tomoko Takahashi ( Japanese 高橋 と も 子 , Takahashi Tomoko ; * around 1945 ) is a former Japanese badminton player .
Career
Tomoko Takahashi won her only national title at the Japanese Individual Championships in 1968. She won the women’s singles. Internationally, however, it was much more successful. She won silver in doubles and bronze in singles at the Asian Games in 1966. In 1969 she finished second in the prestigious All England . In the final of the Uber Cup , the world championship for women’s teams, she was able to defeat the USA with the Japanese team in 1966 and Indonesia in 1969, thus becoming world champion twice.
