Ketelä has mainly participated in the Scandinavian Cup since 2006 . He achieved his best placement in February 2014 in Otepää with third place in the sprint. He ran his first World Cup race in March 2011 in Lahti , which he finished with 50th place in the sprint. In March 2012 he got his first World Cup points in Lahti with 14th place in the sprint. In the same month he won bronze at the Finnish cross-country skiing championships in Imatra . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he finished eighth in the sprint. In January 2015 he took third place in Otepää, his first top ten and a podium finish in the World Cup. At the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , he came tenth in the sprint.
