Anthony Robert Greaves, Baron Greaves (born July 27, 1942 in Bradford) is a British politician. He sits for the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords .

Greaves was born in Bradford , Yorkshire and graduated from Hertford College , Oxford, with a BA in Geography . After moving to the North West, he served on the Lancashire District Assembly and on the Colne and Pendle Town Councils for over 25 years .

On May 4, 2000 he was named Baron Greaves , of Pendle in the County of Lancashire, he was promoted to Life Peer and inducted into the House of Lords. He advocates social liberal politics and opposed reforms in his party that were introduced by Sir Menzies Campbell and Nick Clegg .

In 2010, Greaves caught the eye when he expressed his annoyance at the auction of the feudal title Lord of Pendle . Greave's complaints later proved justified when it became known that the title formally belonged to the 2nd Baron Clitheroe . The title had not been used since the World War, but its sale was not authorized by the owner.

Tony Greaves is married and has two daughters.
