Tony Hedin (born April 11, 1969 in Ystad ) is a Swedish handball coach and former handball player .

The 1.90 m tall and 92 kg heavy left back player started playing handball at Köpingebro IF. In the Elitserien he ran for Ystads IF , with whom he became Swedish Champion and Player of the Year in 1992. In 1992/93 he was top scorer with 218 goals in 30 games . In Germany, he initially signed with TV Hüttenberg . In the 1998/99 season he played for TSG Altenhagen-Heepen and scored 170 goals in 29 games. For the 1999/2000 season he moved to the second division SG VTB / Altjührden , but was rarely used due to injuries. In 2001 he returned to Sweden to IFK Ystad . He later joined the HK Björnan in the fourth division (2nd division), where he was also a player- coach . He is currently a youth coach at Ystads IF.

Tony Hedin made his debut in the Swedish national team in 1992. At the 1993 World Cup , he won the bronze medal. By 1994 he played twelve international matches in which he scored 18 goals.

Private

Tony Hedin comes from a handball family. His father Kjell also played for IFK Ystad . His brother Robert Hedin was European champion in 1994 and won two silver medals at the Olympic Games .
