Tony Mansfield (born January 19, 1955 in Clapham , London ) is a musician, songwriter and producer.

He worked (mainly as a songwriter) with groups like After the Fire , A-ha , Aztec Camera , Captain Sensible ("Wot"), Naked Eyes , The B-52’s and Vicious Pink as well as artists like Mari Wilson , Miguel Bose , Nick Straker and Ana Torroja together.

With the Nick Straker Band he played the top 10 hit "A Walk In The Park" as guitarist in 1979 , which was written by Nick Straker.

With his band New Musik he had three UK top 40 hits and one number 1 hit in France in 1980, they released the three albums "From A To B" (1980), "Anywhere" (1981) and " Warp "(1982).

Tony Mansfield is considered by many to be a pioneer and milestone in synth pop music. New Musik's last album (Warp) in particular was way ahead of its time in 1982 and brought many innovations. Backward vocal sequences and heavily processed drum sounds strained the listening habits of the audience at the time, so that the last album was not very successful commercially and remained a secret tip among insiders. One often reads that New Music was the most underrated band of the early 80s.

After the breakup of New Music in 1982, Mansfield founded the group Planet Haha with his brother Lee Mansfield and Rob Fisher (from Naked Eyes) , with whom they released a single "Home". He then worked with YMO's drummer - Yukihiro Takahashi. In addition to the production, he also contributes to the vocals of these four pieces: Drip Dry Eyes - Memory Without Consequence - Disposable Love - Connection.

He also produced the Latvian contribution ("My Star") by the group Brainstorm at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 in Stockholm , which reached 3rd place with 136 points.
