Tore W. Aas

Tore Wilhelm Aas (born July 24, 1957 ) is a Norwegian composer and founder and director of the Oslo Gospel Choir .

Live and act

Aas has been heavily influenced by gospel music since the early 1980s and worked closely with Andraé Crouch . His original intention was to hold workshops for talented gospel singers several times a year . Instead, the Oslo Gospel Choir was founded in 1988.

In addition to leading the choir, Aas is a lecturer at an Oslo Conservatory and conducts workshops in Europe.

His compositions include both songs and large compositions such as masses such as the gospel oratorio Messias . Some of his songs found their way into the new hymn book of the Church of Norway .

In addition to the recordings of the choir, he also produced records for Andraé Crouch and Nana Mouskouri .

Famous songs are for example Lord, I Give You Glory as well as I'm willing to Go or Shine your light , which was on the program at the European Youth Day of the New Apostolic Church in 2009.
