The Torge Plateau is a deep-sea mountain in the Lasarew Sea off the Princess Martha Coast of Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . Its summit plateau is 2300 m below sea level .

The plateau has been named since 1997 at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute . It is named after the German geodesist Wolfgang Torge (* 1931), professor for theoretical geodesy at the Institute for Earth Measurement (IFE) at the University of Hanover .
