Tornado Luxembourg is a Luxembourg ice hockey club that has been playing in the French Division 3 since the 2005/06 season . The club, founded in 1987, plays its home games in the Patinoire de Kockelscheuer, which can hold 1,000 spectators .

history

Tornado Luxembourg succeeded in its first season 1987/88 as runner-up in the qualification to participate in the then fourth-class regional league middle in the game operation of the Federal Republic of Germany . In the 1988/89 season , the Luxembourgers took part in the regional league center for the first and only time, but were relegated to eighth place immediately in the Rhineland-Palatinate league, in which they played until 2005. The club then joined the French league system, in which they have been competing in the fourth division 3 . The 1b has been participating in the Rhineland-Palatinate regional league for several years.

The current president is Monique Scheier, who is also active in the IIHF 's organizational committee.

Due to the small number of Luxembourg ice hockey teams , Tornado Luxembourg always provides a large proportion of the players in the national team's international tournaments . Tornado Luxembourg provided a total of eight players from the squad at the 2009 World Cup .
