The Torre de la Font Bona is a landmark of the city of Banyeres de Mariola in the north of the province of Alicante . The defense tower is part of the city's coat of arms.

The defense tower was built in the 16th century to control the streets and entrances to the city. It is part of the historic Almohad fortress Castillo de Banyeres from the 12th century, which is located on the Cerro del Águila mountain in the geographical center of Banyeres de Mariola at an altitude of around 830 meters.

The square defense tower with four floors is decorated with Moorish tiles. In 1991 it was completely restored and added to the Bien de Interés Cultural list as a cultural monument .

From 1997 to 1999 the weir system housed the paper museum Museo Valenciano del Papel . Today there is the Museo Arqueológico Municipal ( Valencian Museu Arqueològic Municipal ).
