Torstein Tvedt Solberg (born March 2, 1985 in Stavanger ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2013 .

Life

Solberg moved to Stavanger City Council in 2003, where he remained a member until 2011. After finishing school, Solberg served from 2005 to 2006 as secretary of the youth organization Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking (AUF) in the province of Rogaland , where he was also chairman in 2005. From 2006 to 2011 he finally studied art and art history at the University of Stavanger . During election campaigns in 2009 and 2011, he served as his party's communications advisor. From 2011 to 2012 he worked as a media analyst. Between September 2012 and June 2013, Solberg worked as a political advisor in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Trade ( Nærings- og handelsdepartementet ), where he worked under Trond Giske .

Solberg moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2013 general election . There he represents the constituency of Rogaland and he became a member of the finance committee. In the 2017 election he was re-elected and subsequently became part of the Education and Research Committee, where he became second vice-chair in October 2019.
