Tour Défense 2000 is a high-rise building in the Paris suburb of Puteaux in the office district of La Défense . Construction began in April 1971. When it was completed in November 1974, the 134  m high residential tower was the fifth tallest building in the La Défense business district. It has 47 floors above ground and four underground floors. The high-rise houses 370 apartments in which around 700 people live. The skyscraper was designed by the architects Michel Proux, Jean-Michel Demonès and Georges Srot.
