Tour France is a high-rise in the Paris suburb of Puteaux in the office district of La Défense . When it was completed in 1973, the 126 m high residential tower was the tallest residential building in the greater Paris area . A year later, the 8-meter-higher Tour Défense 2000 residential tower , also located in Puteaux, was completed. Since then it has been ranked second among the tallest residential buildings in the greater Paris area. The skyscraper was designed by the architect Jean de Mailly , who designed the Tour Ariane and Tour Initiale office towers , two more towers in the La Défense business district.
The residential tower is connected to local public transport in the greater Paris area with the Esplanade de la Défense metro station and La Défense train station.
