criticism

The Federal Ministry of Consumers has spoken out against Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania issuing temporary fishing licenses to tourists without a professional examination. This regulation cannot guarantee that anglers have the necessary knowledge of the provisions of the Animal Welfare Act.

The ministry therefore called on the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania government to reverse the regulation that came into force on July 1, 2005 in order to protect animals. So far, however, this initiative has not been successful.

However, it should be noted that most of the EU countries do not have any qualifications or fishing exams.
