Watson Wyatt Worldwide was a human resources and finance consultancy. In Germany, the company advised on company pensions, human capital issues and investment consulting. The company has been trading under the name Towers Watson since January 2010 .

Business areas

Watson Wyatt Heissmann's business in Germany was divided into different business areas.

Company pension schemes : The design, establishment and modification of pension schemes , actuarial evaluations and projections, advice on the choice of financing method, support in the selection of external providers and advice on company takeovers and mergers.

The Data Services division dealt with the topic of benchmarking. These are studies on remuneration and fringe benefits, working with remuneration databases for salary comparisons, as well as supporting industry circles in questions of employee remuneration.

The division Human Capital advised in the areas of Human Resources Management, particularly on the subjects of total compensation ( Total Reward ), position evaluation ( Global Grading System ), talent management , executive compensation, compensation in sales.

The Investment Consulting division was managed from Frankfurt am Main .

history

Reuben Watson founded the insurance company R Watson & Sons in 1878 . By 1910, the company had developed into an advisor to the UK government on issues related to social security programs.

In 1946, BE Wyatt and seven co-founders founded The Wyatt Company as an underwriting consultancy. During the following decades the company expanded its activities to other business areas, including a. Health care advice and remuneration advice. In the 1980s, the company established global offices in Canada , Europe , Latin America and Asia .

In 1995 the two companies formed a global alliance and began operating as Watson Wyatt Worldwide. In 2000, the US-based part of Allianz went public and has been traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: WW) ever since . In August 2005, the two sole proprietorships were formally merged.

In Germany, Watson Wyatt acquired Dr. Dr. Heissmann GmbH and further expanded its market position in the field of company pension schemes in Germany. Since then the company has operated on the German market as Watson Wyatt Heissmann.

On June 28, 2009, Watson Wyatt and the Towers Perrin company announced that they would seek a merger. Together, the two companies have annual sales of more than three billion dollars. The merged company is called Towers Watson.
