The Trümmelbach Falls are located in the Swiss Lauterbrunnen Valley between Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg .

They are located within the UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn and are part of the Swiss federal inventory of landscapes and natural monuments of national importance .

Located in Lauterbrunnen valley  just before Stechelberg  , the Trümmelbach falls from the east over the steep rock faces into the valley. The stream that drains the glacier walls of the Eiger , Mönch and Jungfrau mountains has  washed a gorge into the rock face here , which is very narrow and hardly widens towards the top. In this gorge, the brook falls over ten waterfalls, overcoming a height difference of 140 meters. The uppermost falls are so deep in the narrow, winding gorge that daylight can no longer reach them and they are referred to as underground waterfalls.

The Trümmelbach has a catchment area of 23 square kilometers, half of which is covered with ice and snow . It carries up to 20,000 liters of water per second and 20,200 tons of debris per year  .

A system of paths over 600 meters long, over stairs and through tunnels, has made the Trümmelbach Falls accessible since 1913. Especially the upper waterfalls inside the mountain could only be accessed through galleries and tunnels. An inclined lift in the mountain, which overcomes a height difference of 100 meters, makes the ascent easier. You have to pay admission to visit the falls.
