Trần Đình Sơn (born December 1, 1997 ) is a Vietnamese sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Trần Đình Sơn gained his first international experience in 2016 when he reached the semifinals in the 400-meter run at the Junior Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City and was eliminated there with 49.66 s, while he was eliminated in the 400- Meter hurdles with 54.67 s in the first lap failed. The following year he won the silver medal behind Thailand at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur with the Vietnamese 4-by-400-meter relay with a new national record of 3: 07.40 minutes. In 2018 he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and was eliminated there over 400 meters with 46.96 s in the semi-finals. In addition, he reached fifth place in the mixed 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 23.59 min. In 2019 he won the silver medal behind his compatriot Hoàng Trần Nhật at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in 46.68 s and won both the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 08.07 min and the mixed relay 3: 19.50 min.

In 2019 Hoàng became Vietnamese champion in the 400-meter run.
