Tracedawn is a melodic death metal band from Finland , which was founded in 2006 by Tuomas Yli-Jaskari. The band was previously called Moravia .
Band history
Tuomas Yli-Jaskari found a group of young talented musicians via the Internet in the summer of 2006, with whom he recorded a demo entitled Path of Reality under the band name Moravia . This demo received a number of very positive reviews and attracted the interest of several record companies. At the end of 2007 they decided on the band name Tracedawn , signed a contract with Redhouse FMP and started recording their first official release. An EP with four songs was released. On March 19, 2008 their first album Tracedawn was released in Finland also under Redhouse FMP. On August 22nd, 2008, Drakkar Entertainment released it across Europe.
In 2009 the second studio album Ego Anthem was released , which they recorded with producer Janne Joutsenniemi. At the end of September 2009, Tracedawn started their first European tour as support for Ensiferum . In January 2011 Tracedawn and the singer Antti Lappalainen parted ways. After a long search, Niko Kalliojärvi (ex- Amoral ) was announced as the new singer, but he will only take over the growl parts . Guitarist Tuomas Yli-Jaskari is now responsible for the clean vocals. The first album with the new lineup was announced for February 2012 and will be called Lizard Dusk .
style
Tracedawn plays a heavy metal, which nevertheless has a lot of melodic elements. The great technical skills of the artists are striking, as they learned their instruments as early as children. According to the band, they were influenced by many bands from this genre.
