Meißner Strasse transformer tower (Radebeul)
The so-called transformer tower on the corner of Meißner Strasse and Einsteinstrasse in the Saxon city of Radebeul is a former transformer station . The building, which is now a listed building, dates back to around 1910. Right next to it is the hotel and restaurant “Zu den Linden” owned by Radebeul pastry chef and specialist author Erich Weber .
As the starting point of the radial road system of the so-called Lindenquartier, the transformer tower is also at the beginning of August-Bebel-Straße and Karl-Marx-Straße , to the south of Meißner Straße supplemented by Zinzendorfstraße and Louisenstraße .
The single-storey, square structure has a simple plaster structure and a high, tower-like helmet . This is tiled and shows small dormers . There are no longer used today under the sheet metal-clad tip bushing insulators for connecting the overhead lines .
