The Tragberg is a 534 m high mountain in the Thuringian Forest . It is located directly above the Ilm valley between Ilmenau in the west and Langewiesen in the east in the Langewiesen district. Although it only towers over its surroundings by a good 70 meters, it looks very dominant to the north and west, which is due to its steeply sloping profile. Together with the Ehrenberg to the north opposite the Ilm , the Tragberg closes the basin in which Ilmenau is located. On the support mount is a FM station , the radio channels , including the local radio hsf , radiates.
