Tragheimer Tor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tragheimer Tor was located in Königsberg (Prussia) in the Tragheim district and led from Mühlen-Quergasse through Wallgasse to Palwe and to Maraunenhof .

This gate was insignificant and made of palisades. In 1785 the “Tragheimsche Gemeindehaus” located in front of the gate and a milk shack (dairy) are mentioned. In 1820 the area near the gate included four goods, a bark mill and a fulling mill. In the course of its development, the city of Königsberg suffered from tightness and lack of space, so that in 1900 this situation was eased by the opening of the city fortifications at Tragheimer Tor. In 1910 the Tragheimer Tor was razed.
