Tragicorum Romanorum Fragmenta

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under the title Tragicorum Romanorum Fragmenta , two collections of the fragments of the Roman tragedy poets have appeared so far.

Otto Ribbeck published the Tragicorum Latinorum Reliquiae collection in Teubner Verlag in 1852 , which was conceived as the first volume of a collection of fragments by stage poets ( Scaenicae Romanorum poesis fragmenta ). Ribbeck gradually revised the collection and reissued it under the title Tragicorum Romanorum Fragmenta in 1871 and 1897. This collection was the only one of its kind in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Markus Schauer has been working on a four-volume revision of the Tragicorum Romanorum Fragmenta ( Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht Verlag , Göttingen ) since 2002 , in which Widu-Wolfgang Ehlers , Peter Kruschwitz , Gesine Manuwald and Bernd Seidensticker are involved. The edition project was funded by the German Research Foundation from 2004 to 2014 . Volumes 1 and 2 (2012) appeared during the term. Volumes 3–4 are still in progress.
