Tragopogon lassithicus is a species of the sunflower family (Asteraceae).
features
Tragopogon lassithicus is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 6 to 8 centimeters. The head stalks are 6 to 8 inches long and almost not thickened. The flowers are yellow, when dried they sometimes turn reddish. The fruit is 16 to 18 millimeters long and scaly-prickly on the ribs. The beak is 1 to 2 millimeters long.
The flowering period extends from June to July.
Occurrence
Tragopogon lassithicus is endemic to Crete . It grows in the Ida and Dikti mountains on rocky and rubble slopes at altitudes of 1800 to 2400 meters.
