history

The company was created through the acquisition of numerous smaller American companies. It was owned by private equity firms until it went public in 2006 .

In 2010, McKechnie Aerospace Holdings was taken over. In 2015 the company Telair from Miesbach was taken over. In February 2017, TransDigm took over Schroth Safety Products in Arnsberg from the Takata Group.
