The Trans World Express (TWE) was the express and regional flight and feeder company of Trans World Airlines (TWA). With the takeover of TWA by American Airlines , the TWE fleet continued to operate under the name AmericanConnection .
The Trans World Express flight routes were operated by Trans States Airlines , Chautauqua Airlines and Corporate Airlines (now RegionsAir ). TWE Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of TWA, ran flights under the Trans World Express banner until November 6, 1995 . The airline, formerly Ransome Airlines , then Pan Am Express , was based at Philadelphia North East Airport . After that date, all TWE flights were operated by third party airlines. Other airlines flying under the TWE banner included Resort Air and Metro Air Northeast .
The majority of flight operations were flights from the east coast of the United States to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and from the south and midwest to Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport .
