Transglobal Underground (alternative spellings Trans-Global Underground or TGU ) is a London-based music collective. The musicians have specialized in the fusion of western, oriental and African musical influences, which is why their music was also known as "World Fusion" or "Ethno-Techno". The group cooperates with different artists and bands.
history
The band's first four albums and the single Temple Head were recorded with the Belgian Natacha Atlas as the lead singer . The song was for Coca-Cola - advertising campaign for the 1996 Olympic Games used.
In 2008 they won the BBC Radio 3 Award for World Music . Together with the Albanian brass band Fanfara Tirana , an album entitled Kabatronics was released on World Village Records in February 2013 .
