transversal: Journal for Jewish Studies or from 2015: transversal. Journal for Jewish Studies is an Austrian cultural studies journal on Judaism . The focus is on the period from the 19th to the 21st century. It was published every six months until 2014 by the Center for Jewish Studies (CJS) at the University of Graz and was published in print by the Studienverlag in Innsbruck until 2014 . Since then, the journal has been published as an open access journal in English by de Gruyter, with print-on-demand as an additional option.

Members of the editorial advisory board in 2014 were: Steven E. Aschheim, Alfred Bodenheimer , Petra Ernst, Judith Frishman, Mark H. Gelber , Sander L. Gilman , Mary Gluck, Gerhard Langer , Michael A. Meyer , Yfaat Weiss , Liliane Weissberg , Robert S. Wistrich , Ulrich Wyrwa , Jack Jacobs, David N. Myers, Victor Karady, Andras Kovacs and Joachim Schlör . The focus will be on historical cultural references between Jews and non-Jews.

Transversal is subject to a peer review , from 2015 as a double-blind review .

The latest edition was published in 2016.
