The Trappist Abbey Ava (Latin Abbatia Beatae Mariae de Assumptione ; English Assumption Abbey ) has been an American monastery in Ava, Douglas County (Missouri) , Diocese Springfield-Cape Girardeau , since 1951 .

Monks of New Melleray Abbey founded Assumption Abbey in 1951 in Ava, Missouri , 75 miles southeast of Springfield, Missouri (elevated to abbey in 1956).
