The Trappist Illah is since 2006 the monastery of Trappist monks in Illah in the diocese Issele-Uku in Nigerian state of Delta .

history

Anselm Abraham Ojefua (1910–1988), who founded the Knights of Saint Mulumba in 1953 and founded the Awhum Monastery in 1970 ( incorporated in the Cistercian Order of Strict Observance in 1978 ) , was the founder of the diocesan monastery of Holy Cross ("Holy Cross") in 1982. in Illah in the extreme north of the Nigerian state Delta (northwest Onitsha ), which was also incorporated into the Trappist order in 2006 (with the status of a priory ). The immediate superior is the Trappist Genesee Abbey .
