The Trappistinnenabtei Quilvo , official name Monasterio Trapense Nuestra Señora de Quilvo since 1981 a monastery of Trappist nuns in Curicó in the Diocese of Talca in Chile .
history
The Italian Trappist abbey of Vitorchiano founded the nunnery Nuestra Señora de Quilvo in the Chilean city of Curicó in 1981 , which was elevated to a priory in 1988 , an independent priory in 1994 and an abbey in 1998 . Carlos González Cruchaga was the founding bishop of the Talca diocese . The monastery founded the daughter monastery Boa Vista in Brazil in 2009 . The earthquake in Chile in 2010 caused great damage to the monastery.
