Vitorchiano monastery
Vitorchiano Monastery (Latin Abbatia BM Sancti Ioseph de Vitorchiano ; Italian Monastero Trappiste Nostra Signora de San Giuseppe ) has been an Italian Trappist abbey in Vitorchiano near Viterbo since 1957 .
history
The foundation of the Monastery of San Vito , which began in 1875 from the Lyon-Vaise Monastery , was moved to Grottaferrata in 1898 and from there to Vitorchiano in 1957. The abbey founded subsidiaries on several continents. The remains of Blessed Maria Gabriella Sagheddu have been resting in Vitorchiano since 1957 .
