Hinojo Trappist Abbey

The Trappist Abbey of Hinojo has been an Argentine monastery of the Trappist women in Hinojo ( Province of Buenos Aires ), diocese of Azul , since 1973 .

history

The Italian Trappist Abbey of Vitorchiano founded the Monasterio de la Madre de Cristo (" Mother of Christ") in 1973 in Hinojo (northeast of Olavarría ) , which was elevated to a priory in 1977 and an abbey in 1989 . The monastery, which is located in the vicinity of the Trappist Abbey of Azul , founded the daughter monastery Juigalpa in Nicaragua in 2001 .
