Traugott Wulfhorst

Traugott Wulfhorst (born September 19, 1927 in Schwelm ; † April 23, 2015 ) was a German judge at the Federal Social Court .

Life

Traugott Wulfhorst first attended high school before he was drafted into military service in 1944. He returned from the war seriously wounded. From October 1948 to September 1951 he studied at the Universities of Münster , Bonn and Cologne law , which he successfully completed the first legal state examination 1,951th In 1954 he received his doctorate and a year later he passed the second state law examination. He then became a judge in the social justice system . In 1963 he became a state social judge at the state social court of North Rhine-Westphalia .

From 1971 to 1992 Wulfhorst was a judge at the Federal Social Court . He was a member of the 9th Senate, which is responsible, among other things, for provisions for war victims . In 1979 he became vice chairman of the 9th Senate. He was involved in the sensational Senate decision of September 11, 1991, in which the judgments of the German courts-martial in World War II were rated as “obvious injustice”.

In addition to his work at the Federal Social Court, Wulfhorst has made numerous publications on social compensation law as well as legal sociological and contemporary history issues.
