The Dream Catcher Publishing is a German publishing house from Upper Bavaria Schoenau . The publisher publishes books on the subject of " Indian Studies ". Historical Indian novels , contemporary crime novels , thrillers and biographies are published. The program also includes books for children and young people.

Authors

The authors include: Ernie LaPointe, Dallas Chief Eagle, Mitch Walking Elk, Mary Caesar, Beverly Pinheiro, Bill Matson and the Crazy Horse Family, Michael Koch, Michael Schiffmann, Kerstin Groeper, Ronda Baker-Summer, Brita Rose-Billert, Ulrich Wißmann, Alexandra Walzcyk, Tanja Mikschi, Rebecca Netzel and Katja Etzkorn.

Career

The publishing house was founded in 2008 as TraumFänger Verlag GmbH & Co. Buchhandels KG. In 2009 the publisher was represented at the Leipzig Book Fair and presented “Kranichfrau” by Kerstin Groeper and “Wintercount - Twilight over the land of the Sioux” by the Indian author Dallas Chief Eagle. Further publications followed. A year later, TraumFänger Verlag was also represented at the Frankfurt Book Fair . In 2011, the translation of the biography of " Sitting Bull ", written by Ernie LaPointe, the great-grandson of Sitting Bull, followed. A reading tour took place with 300 readers per evening. In 2012 the biography of “Wild Willy Westbahn” was presented at the Munich event “Book meets film”. The publisher has now reprinted many of its titles in paperback . Also in 2012, the biography "There will be no surrender" by the AIM activist Mitch Walking Elk was presented at the Munich book show . In 2015 the publisher again succeeded in presenting the novel “Indian for Beginners” at the Munich film festival “Book meets film”. In 2016, in cooperation with Tokata-LPSG RheinMain eV / Germany, the non-fiction book “A life for freedom - Leonard Peltier and the Indian resistance” was published. In 2017 the biography "Crazy Horse - Life and Legacy of a Lakota Warrior" appeared for the first time, written from the traditions of the family.

The registered managing director is Bruno Schmäling.

Publishing philosophy

The publisher wants to make the Indian peoples of North America heard. He also publishes Indian authors to give these people a dignified setting. He also helps Indian artists and musicians on European tours. The publisher supports several Indian projects, primarily the Lakota Horsemenship and the winter project through the Association for Endangered Peoples.

The publisher does not request any subsidies from the authors and pays a fee of 8% in accordance with the contract . The books are listed with the wholesalers. The delivery takes place via Herold, Oberhaching .
