Tremhof (also Hofgut Tremhof ) is a residential area as well as a former estate in the Freudenberg district of Boxtal in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

geography

The residential area is about three kilometers northeast of Freudenberg on the left side of the Main , where the stream from the Tremhofklinge also flows into the Main. Tremhof can be reached via the L 2310 .

history

The living space was first mentioned in 1342 as Treymbach . Further mentions follow in 1378 as Trimhof and 1415 as Trembach . The Hofgut was a single farm in the area of the Zehnt Bürgstadt; once a fiefdom of the Teutonic Order, then the Count of Weigheim for the Rüdt von Gollenberg; moved in from Wertheim shortly before 1550. The rest of the story is similar to that of the Boxtal district. In 1925 the own district was abolished. Ecclesiastically, Tremhof initially belonged to the parish of Dorfprozelten on the other side of the Main. Since the Reformation the same development followed as with Boxtal.

The Tremhof residential area came to the City of Freudenberg on January 1, 1972 as part of the formerly independent municipality of Boxtal.

Bird sanctuary at the Tremhof

By regulation of the Stuttgart regional council on the bird sanctuary at the Tremhof of December 7, 1979, a nature reserve with 46.5 hectares was designated at the residential area. The bird sanctuary at Tremhof serves to "preserve the bird species occurring in the sanctuary, especially the herons" ( LUBW ).
