The third Thrijang Rinpoche Lobsang Yeshe Tendzin Gyatsho ( Tibetan ཁྲི་ བྱང་ རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ བློ་ བཟང་ ཡེ་ ཤེས་ བསྟན་ འཛིན་ རྒྱ་ མཚོ Wylie khri byang rin po che blo bzang ye shes bstan 'dzin rgya mtsho * 1901 , † 1981 ) was a major Gelug - Lama of Tibetan Buddhism . He was a student of Phabongkha Dechen Nyingpo and for more than forty years philosophical advisor and junior tutor (Tib.yongs ' dzin ) to the fourteenth Dalai Lama Tendzin Gyatsho from 1951.

A well-known text by Thrijang Rinpoche is his introduction to Liberation in Our Hands by Phabongkha Rinpoche.

Thrijang Rinpoche also wrote the lyrics for Gyallu , the Tibetan national anthem used by the Tibetan government in exile .
