Triple Canopy is a US private security and military company headquartered in Herndon , Virginia . There are also offices in Abu Dhabi and Nigeria . It is a member of various lobby groups in the private security and military industries , including the International Peace Operations Association (IPOA) and the Private Security Company Association of Iraq (PSCAI).

In 2014, Triple Canopy was bought with Academi and six other military service providers and merged under Constellis Holdings, Inc.

history

In 2003, three Delta Force veterans, Thomas Katis , Matthew Mann and John Peters founded the company in Lincolnshire , Illinois .

In early 2004, the company received an order for a period of six months worth of 90 million US dollars . Under that contract, it was agreed that Triple Canopy would protect 13 coalition interim administration offices in Iraq. On the night of April 6-7, 2004, fighting broke out between insurgents and private security and military companies in Iraq. Triple Canopy employees were also involved in those skirmishes. On July 8, Triple Canopy employees working on a subcontract for KBR shot civilians, killing a taxi driver. This resulted in a lawsuit in the Fairfax County Court of Appeals in the United States in July 2006 .

On June 21, 2005 it was announced that the company's headquarters would be relocated from Lincolnshire to Herndon. In September, four employees were killed on a mission for the US State Department in Basra. On November 4th, it was announced that Triple Canopy was taking over the Green Zone defense contract from the Global Strategies Group , which had recently lost it.

On 15 June 2007 the Company announced that it is the firm Clayton Consultants Inc. has taken over.

Fields of activity

A variety of services are offered including law enforcement and nuclear safety training. It also offers services in the field of risk analysis and crisis management. In addition to providing personnel to guard nuclear facilities, Triple Canopy also offers this service for chemical and maritime facilities.

According to its own statement, the company can have a team of over 200 men, under arms, ready for action in Iraq within three days.

Subsidiaries

Triple Canopy has several subsidiaries to recruit staff primarily in South America .

  • Defion Internacional - based in San Miguel, Mexico. The company states on its website that it is looking, among other things, for security personnel for the Middle East (Iraq) to fulfill large orders.
  • TCLA International - based in Peru.
