history

Bürstenfabrik AG Triengen, with share capital of CHF 40,000, was founded in 1887. Five years later, the company started its own wood production and an electricity company to produce electricity. The first toothbrush using the manual retraction method was presented in 1903. Already 21 years after it was founded, the range for agriculture already comprised 196 brush models. From 1910 to 1917 the first hydraulic production machines were used and the main building was expanded. In 1921, the toothbrush range comprised 39 models. Bürstenfabrik AG bought hand punching machines in 1938, which gradually replaced the hand feed.

After the Second World War , thermoplastic products were manufactured. After a long collaboration with the University of Zurich , the first nylon toothbrushes were developed in 1948. From then on, the bristle ends were rounded off mechanically. The company's own pension fund was founded in 1954. In 1964, piecework wages for employees were abolished, and Trisa AG introduced profit-sharing schemes. The production areas were massively expanded in 1974. Production of the self-developed electric toothbrushes began in 1978. In 1990, TRISA Holding AG was founded. As a result, the brush factory Walther AG and the brush and brush factory Ebnat-Kappel were taken over. From 2000 to 2010, TRISA invested more than 250 million francs in the Triengen production site and created around 400 new jobs. Since 2013 TRISA has been producing 100% oil-free while production is running. At the same time, the wood chip heating system with integrated heating was commissioned. In 2015, a fully automated high-bay warehouse with more than 9,000 pallet spaces was put into operation.
