Tristan Nguyen

Tristan Nguyen (* 1969 ) is a German economist .

education

From 1991 to 1996 Tristan Nguyen studied mathematics , business administration and economics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the University of Hagen with degrees in mathematics , business administration and economics . He also completed additional studies in commercial and labor law with a Master of Laws degree .

In 2000 he was the subject of "old age, overall economic capital formation and demographic change" from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Hagen for Doctor of Economics PhD. With the thesis “Limits to the insurability of disaster risks and expansion possibilities through risk transfer”, Nguyen completed his habilitation in 2007 at the same faculty with the same reviewers.

In an investigation on the VroniPlag research platform , allegations of plagiarism in connection with the habilitation thesis were raised. According to Vroniplag, his habilitation was then withdrawn in 2014.

Employment

From 1996 to 2000 Nguyen was head of examinations at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Stuttgart and Munich. From 2000 to 2003 he worked as a consultant for reinsurance controlling and economic research at Swiss Re Germany Holding AG in Munich. In January 2005, Nguyen was enrolled in the Public Professional Register as a Chartered Accountant.

From 2000 to 2004 Nguyen received teaching assignments from the FernUniversität Hagen and the Munich Business School . In 2004 he was appointed a junior professor for the insurance industry at Ulm University. From 2009 to 2013 Nguyen was employed at the private Lahr University of Applied Sciences (WHL) as a professor of economics with a focus on insurance and health economics. Until 2012, Nguyen was also Vice Rector for Research at the university. According to his own statements, he was also Professor of Managerial Economics at Munich Business School from 2002 to 2011 and, from 2008, a freelance auditor.

Nguyen has been working as an auditor in an auditing and tax consultancy firm in Munich since 2013. He has also been Professor of Finance & Accounting at the Hochschule Fresenius Munich since 2013 .
